| Beginning, Intermediate, Advanced dancers and non dancers alike are encouraged to join The Academy's Musical Theatre class. In this class which will be held from September 2009 to June 2010 movement and acting are combined to create theatrical dance. Throughout the year students will learn Character/ Broadway style dance combinations to a wide variety of Musical Theatre & Broadway pieces. Students will strengthen their performance and acting skills, while dancing to Tony Award winning shows. This style of dance is very valuable and useful to the up and coming dancer/performer. The class will culminate with an on stage performance during the Academy's annual concert at the Civic Arts Plaza Fred Kavli Theater!. Musical Theater program director Jennifer Lettelleir has an extensive Musical Theatre background including the Broadway National Tour of CATS, Cabaret, Anything Goes, Three Penny Opera and Superstar. Jennifer loves to teach and is eager to share her love of the arts with all of her students. |
